Inside Roman mythology, Pomona was the goddess of fruit trees. She despised a love of Silvanus and Picus but married Vertumnus after he tricked her, disguised as an old woman. Her high priest was known as a flamen Pomonalis. A pruning knife was her attribute.

Pomona is normally associated by owning abundance. Inside 19th century statues and building decorations she is ordinarily shown carrying either the big platter of fruit or even the cornucopia.

a nude sculpture of her is in the fountain in the little park prior to the Plaza Hotel in New York City.
